As we all know, 70% of our body contains fluids, a large part of which is water. Water, being a great solvent, has a lot of minerals contained in it. Also, with a neutral pH, water is something which restores the acid alkaline balance in your body. It is gaged that the body loses about 2.5 liters of water in the process of metabolism and normal bodily functions. Loss of water in the body can result in creation of an acidic environment, leading to mild or severe acidosis. This is why proper care should be taken to hydrate your body.

Why super hydration? Super hydration is essential in today’s highly “acidic” lifestyle. The body expels about 3 liters of water daily. If you are a person who workouts on a regular basis or handles any heavy-sweating job, you would be losing  more amount of water. Since water is a natural solvent and carries a neutral pH, it dissolves and neutralizes the acids in the body. After dissolving the acid ash, water trashes them out through propers organs. Lack of water can make the body vulnerable to acidic environment, leading to a host of conditions that may result in ill health. This is why it is important to super hydrate yourself. Super hydration happens when you add alkaline water in your alkaline diet. For more benefit, you can even add ionized alkaline water to your diet.

Ways to super hydrate yourself: Advice number one, drink plenty of water. Some think taking processed liquids, aerated drinks and other beverages can help. No. Hydrating happens only if you drink at least 3 to 4 liters of water. Next, make your water alkaline. Alkaline water is water that has a higher pH than the normal neutral pH of 7. Rich in mineral content, alkaline water is something that super hydrates you, restoring your body’s acid alkaline balance.

Alkaline water can be therapeutic. It is used in a lot of spas and health centers to purify the body. It cleanses the body off acids, toxic elements and restores the natural alkaline climate. It is also said that drinking alkaline water can help in weight loss. Since it is alkaline in nature, it cures your digestive problems, heartburns, stomach upsets etc.

Here are some ways in which you can super hydrate yourself:

1. Make drinking water a habit. Drink about 3 to 4 liters of alkaline water. Make it mandatory like eating breakfast or lunch. Check how alkaline your water is through pH strips. The ideal pH levels for alkaline water is between 7.35 to 7.45.

2. Avoid processed drinks. At least till you re-hydrate yourself and neutralize the acids in your body. Because, if you add on to your acid content in the form of other drinks, you will be undoing what you are trying to do with alkaline water. So, steer clear of other beverages till you restore your body’s pH balance.

3. Ionize water, if possible. Yes, ionization of alkaline water helps greatly. This can be done if you are very acidic and need tons of minerals to restore your pH. This will improve your mineral reserves and strengthen your bones. But beware of too much intake since it can lead to alkalosis.

4. Include alkaline water in cooking. This can surely help if you are looking for immediate remedy from an acidic body environment. Acidic environment can fasten the aging process too. It can weaken our digestion processes, organ functioning and general health. Including alkaline water in cooking ensures that we are fed with alkaline resources round the clock.
