Go green this morning: 5 simple Alkaline breakfast ideas
Let’s face it. How many of us really manage to find time for a breakfast? Often, when we find time, we either munch something in a hurry or take a high-fat or high-carb diet full of muffins, pancakes, waffles or donuts. Though these may be great breakfast recipes, they are not great for acid alkaline diet. Alkaline breakfasts should have high fiber content, should be rich in veggies and greens with minimum acids
No fat. No carb. An alkaline breakfast is something that is other than what we normally take – toasts, donuts, pastries, pies, sugar cereals, fried eggs, sausages, bacon, cream cheese, cheesy omelets, or other fried up stuff in English or Scottish style. Ideally, it is the opposite of fatty, high-carb food.
Spare 15 minutes: First, spare at least fifteen minutes for breakfast. If eating healthy is one thing, eating slow is another thing. To relish and eat your breakfast fully, start a bit early and spare sometime. Breakfasts kick start the day. They are crucial to keep your body glucose levels high. If you skip your breakfast, you are in for trouble as you would be low on energy and high on acidity (if you consume acidic food during the course of the day to fill you empty stomach).

Here are five simple breakfast ideas that can help you gain your alkaline content right from the beginning of the day.
1. Grapefruits: Grapefruits are a great way to start the day. Especially, eating a couple of grapefruits in summer, accompanied with a lot of ionized water is a powerful breakfast idea. As an alternative, you can have grapefruit with whole wheat toast and almond butter. Though almond butter is a bit on the fatty side, it is better than peanut butter and the grapefruit and almond content balance the acidic content.
2. Fresh fruit salads: The best way is to add all alkaline rich fruits to your diet and make a great salad. Apples, bananas, grapes or even pears do well. Add a little amount of lemon juice. You will relish your alkaline diet!
3. Eggs: Yes, technically, eggs are on the acidic side of the acid alkaline diet list. But many love them and there is no harm in adding a few in your breakfast – after all, you need to find some acidifying food to fill up the 20% of your diet. Use egg whites than whole eggs. Scramble them in olive oil, use peppers (preferably black) and maybe add broccoli and onion for adding up to the dish’s alkaline quality.
4. Vegetable Juices: Vegetable salads maybe a bad and distasteful breakfast idea, but not vegetable juices. You get plenty of natural vegetable juices in supermarkets. Buy them and take them. But check if they are free of preservatives. The best in this variety are carrot and cucumber juices.
5. Bananas, Herbal Tea: This is an after-breakfast idea. You can have bananas and herbal tea as supplements to the main course of your breakfast. They are highly alkalizing and also supply you with great energy reserves. Take them whenever you feel drained or sapped of energy.
